George Washington’s Own Church Removing Plaque Commemorating Him

When the leaders of the Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia began to have meetings about this event, did they think to themselves that this was about their worshippers, or about how they would gaze up perfunctorily toward the plaque and thin to themselves, “I feel unsafe?”

What is this plaque that is supposedly causing all this angst in the pews of this church in Alexandria?  It is a commemorating inscription on the wall that shows that this church and this pew in particular was the second home of our nation’s first president, George Washington, as well as his wife, Martha, and their children, John (Jacky) and Martha (Patsy).  They attended this church every Sunday and are now, in death, being dishonored because their very memories are invoking feelings in modern-day churchgoers of “endangerment” and being “unwelcome!”

Leaders at the church that George Washington attended decided that a plaque honoring the first president of the United States must be removed.

Christ Church in Alexandria, Virginia will take down a memorial marking the pew where Washington sat with his family, saying it is not acceptable to all worshipers.

“The plaques in our sanctuary make some in our presence feel unsafe or unwelcome,” leaders said, a reference to the fact that Washington was a slaveholder.

“Some visitors and guests who worship with us choose not to return because they receive an unintended message from the prominent presence of the plaques.”

“Many in our congregation feel a strong need for the church to stand clearly on the side of ‘all are welcome- no exceptions,'” they concluded.

A memorial to Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee will also come down.

The decision comes in the wake of renewed controversy over whether statues honoring Civil War figures should be no longer honored. The debate broke out again over the summer after a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia killed one and injured others.

President Trump expressed concern that the censoring of Confederate generals would lead to dishonoring Thomas Jefferson and George Washington as well.

So, in case you missed it, we must denounce everything from this moment on in anyone’s life if it makes us feel unwelcome or unsafe.  The possibilities are now endless.  I know for a fact that Van Jones is a registered member of the Communist Party and that makes me feel unsafe.  I shall now be forced to boycott CNN.  I know for a fact that Barack Hussein Obama’s father was a convicted felon and that makes me feel unsafe.  I shall now be forced to ask for his presidential portrait to be removed from every single elementary and high school.

This is asinine.  But it is what Leftists do.  They have now infiltrated churches around the country and are instituting political correctness on a scale that has never been seen before and we will have to get used to seeing even our church leaders being completely unhinged and unreasonable.

It’s just the next step in the evolution of the Progressive movement to appropriating everything on the Right and bastardizing and mutating it until it is unrecognizable as anything salient and commonsensical.  It is also the best way to change the argument when too many scandals are appearing to boomerang on the Democrats.  For them, it’s time to alter the narrative and get back to race politics and away from the Russians.

And it won’t work.
