Furious Parents Take On School Board for ‘Implementing Sharia Law’

Chris Wyrick is a concerned parent.  He discovered recently that his son was being told that Islam and its tenets were superior in all aspects to other religions, to the point where his son was being taught Muslim prayers in the school.

That was enough of a reason for him to take out a pen and paper and describe his feelings.  That impassioned letter was supposed to be the foundation of his discussion with the offending school board.  After penning the letter, he informed the board that he was going to speak at the latest committee meeting, addressing this specific issue.  In response, he was told that he only had “one minute” of their time, literally, to air his grievances.

Mr. Wyrick pays his taxes, he works to feed his children, and he sends them to a public elementary school because he was under the impression (as many millions erroneously are) that faith and religion are banned from schools.  Therefore, he has never impressed upon the school system that his son be allowed to pray at school or perform other rituals that could be construed as “offensive” to other students.

To find that his son was being taught that Islam was perfectly acceptable to be spoken of inside the walls of the classroom was enough of a reason for his outrage.  Now they were telling him that he had a precious one minute of time to implore his son’s school board to not dismiss his chosen faith and insult it as inferior by allowing Islam to be taught in the class.

The concerned father took to the podium, heavily-edited letter in hand, and began speaking fervently.

My name is Christopher Wyrick.  I’m a resident of San Diego.  I’m a taxpayer, a father, a husband, and a very, very proud American.  Over the years I’ve had many titles; one of them, I will not accept is “infidel.”

There’s been an argument over the years to keep religious beliefs out of the school, especially any that happen to be associated with Judaism or Christianity.  So at what point did you decide that it was okay to teach my children about Islam?  If you’re going to take a stance on any religion in school, then that stance needs to be firm against ALL religions.

Your protective class reports from July 1st, 2016 to December 31st, 2016 states that there were seven incidences regarding religion, number four on the list accounting for 11% of those reports.  If you further separate these incidences down into religious sects, then those numbers fall drastically.

So how does your board justify spending our tax dollars on a program that is meant to educate our kids on the Muslim religion specifically, yet only accounts for a very, very small portion of the harassment reported?

[ALARM RINGS FOR ONE MINUTE]

Pardon me, it’s the first time I’ve ever been up here.  So I’ve seen the reports and it amazes me that you’ve allowed CAIR [Council on American-Islamic Relations] to come in to our public schools and begin to implement pro-Islam curriculum.  What’s next?  Teaching them about the Five Pillars or the Conversion Prayer?

[Board Chairman interrupts]

Oh, Dude, I’m gonna go…you’re gonna have to drag me out of here…

[Crowd behind cheers]

Is that what you consider educating?  How does your organization like CAIR, with ties to terrorists like Hamas, have an ear on this board?

[Board Chairman interrupts again]

Yeah, whatever.  You are actually allowing them to implement their propaganda and hate speech into our schools in an effort to brainwash the minds of the young.  The Muslim and its followers have gracefully hidden their political agenda under the veil of religion.

[Turns toward police officers approaching from behind]  Yeah, I get it, you guys…

[Back to Board]

You know what?  You guys are hypocrites and you guys should protect your children!

This is not an isolated incident and it will not stop until it’s confronted by concerned parents and citizens like the father in the San Diego School Board Committee meeting.

Remain vigilant.  The fight has just begun.
