Fox News Suspends Judge Napolitano Over Trump Wiretap Claim

Fox News hasn’t elaborated on the suspension or how long it might last. Napolitano has been off the air since last Thursday.

A former New Jersey Superior Court judge, Napolitano claimed that the British foreign intelligence agency, the Government Communications Headquarters, “most likely” recorded Trump’s phone calls and provided transcripts of them to President Obama.

Fox News has spoken to intelligence community members who believe that surveillance did occur, that it was done by British intelligence.”

By bypassing all American intelligence services, Obama would have had access to what he wanted with no Obama Administration fingerprints.”

The British spy agency reacted sharply by characterizing Napolitano’s allegations as “utterly ridiculous and should be ignored.”

The Napolitano revelation came in the wake of earlier tweets by President Trump that Obama had ordered his “wires tapped” during the campaign’s final days.

By supporting the Trump tweets with his own interpretation of what might have happened, Napolitano embroiled the White House in the controversy.

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer reiterated the Napolitano charge during a press briefing when asked why President Trump continues to stand by his original claim.

The British government asked for the White House to retract its position and totally denied any involvement.

After making the original statements, Napolitano was asked on the Fox News Sunday program Media Buzz about his comments.

I reported what the sources told me, reported it accurately and I do believe the substance of what they told me.”

This past Monday, both FBI Director James Comey and National Security Director Michael Rogers told the House Intelligence Committee that they had no information that would support President Trump’s original claims.

There’s one glaring problem in their testimony. The allegations of links to Russia by Michael Flynn, Trump’s original National Security Adviser, were based on phone calls that were taped while Flynn was in his office at Trump Tower in the post-election days before the Inauguration.

Because of criminal leaks, it became common knowledge that Flynn was subjected to surveillance. It certainly opens the door to the strong possibility that other Trump campaign leaders and the candidate himself were subject to unlawful surveillance at Trump Tower.

Although Fox News has been relatively silent about the suspension, Trump-hating anchorman Shepard Smith did make comments about the controversy almost a week ago.

Fox News knows of no evidence of any kind that the now-President of the United States was surveilled at any time, in any way.”

President Trump continues to stand by his original claims, and indicates that more information might be forthcoming in the near future.

During the post-election period, it’s known that Napolitano met with President-Elect Trump at Trump Tower.

Fox News is owned by international media mogul Rupert Murdoch. Born in Australia, he has since become a U.S. citizen after building his media empire in Great Britain. He no doubt has strong ties with leaders in the British government.

Napolitano is well known for being a staunch defender of civil liberties and a strong opponent of “Big Brother” government tactics.
