Ferguson’s 1st Black Police Chief Issues Threat to Fellow Officers

The vast majority of the mainstream media made no attempt to determine whether Michael Brown’s friend’s statements about “hands up, don’t shoot” were at all truthful.  Among major media outlets, only Megyn Kelly, Greta Van Susteren, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, and a few others approached the shooting from a neutral and factual perspective.

President Obama instructed his Justice Department to conduct an investigation into whether the Michael Brown shooting was racially motivated or justified.  Even Obama’s out-for-blood DOJ found that Officer Darren Wilson acted in self-defense when shooting the 18-year-old in 2014.

Despite the findings of the DOJ investigation, many in the community of Ferguson refuse to believe in Wilson’s innocence.  In an attempt at appeasement, Ferguson just appointed its first black police chief who issued a warning to his fellow officers.

Moss took the oath of office at the Ferguson Community Center on Monday in front of a crowd of about 150 people, including city residents, police from other departments in the region, as well as a handful of officers from Moss’ previous employer, the Miami Police Department.

Then, in his first remarks to Ferguson officers as their new boss, Moss delivered a stern warning.

“If you work hard, if you stay honest and committed, if you maintain respect for the community and do your job well, we will get along just fine,” he said. “If you fall short of that, and it’s through a mistake of the head, we will work to correct that. But if you do it with malice, if you do the job in a way that disrespects the badge that you hold, I will see to it that you are either removed from police service, or further prosecuted.”

Many of Moss’ fellow officers are likely extremely concerned.  Instead of issuing a threat to the criminals of Ferguson, Moss threatened his own officers.  With police morale across the country already hitting record lows, this threatening overture is likely to demoralize Ferguson cops even further.
