The Federal Reserve’s PR Effort Backfires Hilariously

The Federal Reserve Bank is eager to present itself as a benefactor to Americans. It’s nothing of the sort. It’s a plague — a pox upon our nation, and by extension, much of the world.

That people are waking up to this fact is beautifully illustrated by the Fed’s latest attempt at public relations which has backfired badly.

Some genius at the Fed decided that establishing a Facebook page would be a good idea. What must not have been fully appreciated is the extent to which that Facebook page would be a magnet for comments excoriating the Fed, proving that people are starting to wake up to what the Fed’s up to.

It’s a thing of beauty. When people post comments on your website sarcastically asking for advice from the Fed on how to take over a country and enslave its people, you know the jig is up.

One thing I’ve learned about government and political figures is that while they can deal with criticism, they cannot stand up to ridicule.  When we get enough people to realized that Fed pronouncements are either propaganda or just plain wrong, its power will drop precipitously.  And then maybe we can start moving in the direction of a more limited federal government.

In the meantime we can enjoy ourselves watching people make fun of the inhabitants of the Eccles building.
