Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s infectious disease specialist who funded controversial coronavirus research in Wuhan, China, says the country could see ‘a variant worse than delta’ unless everyone who hasn’t been vaccinated submits to getting the jab.
This comes on the heels of Biden announcing new pandemic requirements aimed at boosting vaccination rates for millions of federal workers and contractors. Federal workers are now required to sign forms attesting they’ve been vaccinated against the coronavirus or else comply with new rules on mandatory masking, weekly testing and distancing.
“Right now, too many people are dying or watching someone they love die and say, ‘If I’d just got the vaccine,’” Biden said on Thursday. “This is an American tragedy. People are dying who don’t have to die.”
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is expected to seek authorization this week to make Covid-19 vaccines mandatory for all active-duty troops.
The Biden administration seems hell-bent on getting the vaccination rate up to 100%. If Fauci gets his deadly new variant, the federal government will certainly begin operations that will bring them as close to 100% as possible. But why the need for 100%?
