Donald Trump Rebukes Paul Ryan For Claiming He “Inherited” GOP Nomination

So disgusted is Ryan by Trump that he went as far to say that he’s “just not ready” to support him, ironically echoing “concerns” by GOP insiders that Trump would refuse to support the Republican candidate if he lost the primary. Tellingly, Speaker Ryan is more than ready to support legislation paying for thousands of Muslim migrants, funding sanctuary cities, and expanding the H-2B visa program:

“Ryan went on to argue, ‘This is the party of Lincoln, of Reagan, of Jack Kemp, and we don’t always nominate a Lincoln and a Reagan every four years, but we hope that our nominee aspires to be Lincoln and Reaganesque.’

Trump’s immediate reaction to not receiving Ryan’s support was to release the following statement:

I am not ready to support Speaker Ryan’s agenda. Perhaps in the future we can work together and come to an agreement about what is best for the American people. They have been treated so badly for so long that it is about time for politicians to put them first!”
