DOJ Warns America, “Don’t Trust Anonymous Sources”

For the millionth time this month, the intelligence community, the Establishmentariat, the Department of Shadowy Endeavors (DSE) and Obama’s holdover shadow weasels have colluded to leak information to the willing accomplices in the Leftist media in order to once again trip up the administration and President Trump’s roaring success at changing the political landscape of Washington.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein has been instrumental in appointing Special Counsel Robert Mueller to head the investigation into the Russia-collusion “fake news” story and it’s anticipated that this will go nowhere, but has to be delved into, regardless, to appease the unhinged Democrats and their constituents.

In a move that stunned many members of the media, on Thursday night Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing the Russia probe due to Jeff Sessions’ recusal and who earlier this week confirmed only he has authority to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller, released an unorthodox statement to be “skeptical about anonymous allegations” following the relentless barrage of news reports emerging from the WaPo and the NYT about the evolving probe into Russia’s “election interference” and possible collusion with Trump, all based on “anonymous sources.”

“Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous ‘officials,’ particularly when they do not identify the country — let alone the branch or agency of government — with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated. Americans should be skeptical about anonymous allegations. The Department of Justice has a long-established policy to neither confirm nor deny such allegations.

Rosenstein, who many had seen as a Trump foil at the DOJ, did not cite specific reports. The DOJ released Rosenstein’s statement after 9 p.m., shortly after The Washington Post reported that the special counsel was investigating the business dealings of Jared Kushner, Mr. Trump’s son-in-law and adviser. That report was attributed to unnamed American officials.

As we said, the media and punditry was “stunned” by the official statement: the NYT’ Maggie Haberman said “Have literally never seen a statement like this.” The new leader of the Trump “resistance”, Preet Bharara also chimed in, tweeting “Americans should also exercise caution before accepting as true lies about firing of FBI Director & defamation of a war hero special counsel”

Preet Bharara is one of those shadow weasels who was fired by Trump earlier in the year.

I have begun to view the Trump-fired Obama shadow weasels the same as the President views some of his political opponents. I have been thinking about them as the unworthy of the spy network, the lower-level amateurs who get caught and cause an international incident; the neophyte agents who tip their hand a little too much and end up being outed.  A good comparison would be Sandy Berger, a Clinton shadow weasel, who was actually convicted of removing classified materials from the National Archives and destroying them.  This shadow weasel actually stuffed them into his socks and pants in order to smuggle them from the building in September and October of 2003.  He lost his license to practice law and was given a light slap on the wrist with a Clinton-issued ruler and sent on his way to do community service in the form of raising money for Bill’s Lewinsky-legal fund.

If Rosenstein follows through and Mueller ends up finding nothing in the form of collusion, by no means will that end this obsession by the Left to “expose the truth of the Russians meddling and Trump colluding” and, by no means, will it end the intelligence community and the Establishmentariat from leaking more damaging innuendo and lies.  Let’s not forget that the Leftist media’s bread and butter depends upon “anonymous sources.”

I guess what I’m trying to say is, in the famous words of Hillary Clinton:  “What difference does it make?”

Minus the shrillness, of course.
