More than two months after methane gas began erupting into the Porter Ranch environment, Governor Jerry Brown finally declared a state of emergency, after the residents began reporting a variety of symptoms from the fumes and gas.
The Gas Company claims that the symptoms are just from odor added to the methane and it is “just temporary, it’s not a problem, it’s not serious”. Scoffing at such a claim, attorney Rex Paris retorts, “These people aren’t stupid. We have children whose noses are bleeding every day, we have people who suffer from chronic headaches [and] are nauseous every, single day. How does that not become a serious issue?”
The only way to avoid sickness, one doctor told the residents, is to get far away. But obviously the gas is not able to be contained to a zip code and it’s reach easily could be beyong the 30 miles to the city of Los Angeles, where almost 18 million people reside as of 2013, making it “the second most populous city in the United States.”

Are you trying to say “H2S” and “ppm”? I didn’t see anything about h2s in this article. But 20 parts per million is the exposure limit for workers. Anyone working higher than that will be masked up with supplied air
First time seeing a plane fly over?
When I worked in that very same field above Northridge we were told that add 300 ppb was the threshold when I worked underground in the mule mountain range think God however you’ll find$#%&!@*loads of it up in the Sierra Nevada, Comstock Road, mother load…
It’s too early I need another cup of coffee I hate fucking voice to text sorry about all the typos if you work it out phonetically a come close I’ll try to correct this b******t later LOL
Wtf?
Wtf is wrong with you people that don’t even care about the people in your own country. That is sad!
Everyone was wondering how all those FEMA camps were going to get filled up… I see something bigger than this in the works. This is just another catalyst stoking the already out of control fire that is our government.

Natural gas is non toxic to breathe.. although its not safe that this has been blowing for months now it will not hurt to breathe it. Gas is only dangerous to you in enclosed spaces where it can displace oxygen and of course the danger of explosion.
In my opinion California should not have underground storage for gas since they are a earthquake zone and it could crack the rock formations that it is stored in. We have 3 or 4 storage feilds in our company
The storage feild it is stored in is VERY deep. No easy task. But i agree they need to get working a little faster
