Senator Tammy Baldwin (D-Wisconsin) discussed the new ruling granting same-sex marriage in the U.S. on MSNBC’s “Up w/ Steve Kornacki.” She explained that, in her opinion, business owners should not be able to refuse to serve homosexuals on grounds of religious beliefs. Baldwin had a confusing logic to support her notion, though. After all, shouldn’t a business owner’s right to freedom of religion, enshrined in the First Amendment to the Constitution protect him from being forced to act counter to his faith?
Senator Baldwin had to do some crazy progressive gymnastics to bend her logic to fit, but she came up with an answer:
I don’t agree with her, but in some aspects I don’t disagree either. I don’t believe that people should refuse to provide a service just because it’s in relation to a LGBT union. With that said I think that people deserve the right to chose to refuse. Although, I’m not totally sure she was speaking her own personal beliefs, only how she believes the new judgements by the Supreme Court should be interpreted. Lastly I don’t agree with that interpretation either. But here again are just my opinions.
another communist atheist democrat.
Last time I checked the cons$#%&!@*ution applied to EVERYONE… not just churches. What is this woman thinking?
Sicko
Senator you don’t know what you just said.
I’m an old man, and was hoping that I would die before I saw a revolution, but your party, and your president my have drowned that dream. I have seen all my sons in war, now I see our leaders being stupid. May God forgive you all, but if you continue. ……………
However, there is nothing in the cons$#%&!@*ution that talks about a right to refuse service because of religious beliefs. There is a right to practice religion freely but not use your religious beliefs to persecute others, or even belittle others.
SCOTUS does not agree with you… otherwise doctors would not be allowed to refuse to perform abortions due to their religious beliefs.
More proof that any idiot can be elected in this country!
WRONG MORON !!!
