David & Goliath: Tiny Christian Academy Bullied and Exiled by Canadian Government

The Canadian government through its Camrose-based Battle River School Division in Alberta has advocated a move to exile one single school from the 26 participant schools list due solely to its strong stance on Christian values and ethics.  The BRSD has issued several demands to the Cornerstone Christian Academy regarding its view that the school’s website description of itself was objectionable, including the word “quality” when referring to its educational facility.

In an effort to avoid a feud with the school division officials and to preserve the funding that the BRSD provided to the school for being part of its division, Academy administrators bowed to the demand to remove the word “quality” from its website “About” page.  Once that was complied with, BRSD officials went one step further and demanded that the Bible quote of scripture in their handbook be removed as well, because it was “offensive” to the LBGTQ community.

While the administrators at Cornerstone struggled with this demand (because it was clearly a violation of their Freedom of Religion) they nevertheless felt nervous at the prospect of defying the Division because it was, in essence, threatening their funding status.

In doing a bit of research, Truth and Action has noted that it is very clear that Cornerstone Christian Academy was targeted for a specific reason:  it has not complied with a Leftist agenda and therefore MUST BE SHUT DOWN.  Although the Division has no authority to close down the school, it certainly has the ability to cut off government funding based on strategically chosen language that puts Christian institutions and businesses in the crosshairs of its Leftist fanatics in the employ of Alberta Province.

Truth and Action has studied the schools involved in the Battle River School Division and notes the following:  25 out of 26 schools in the BRSD have descriptors that include terms consistent with a Leftist narrative, including globalism, climate change, 21st Century teaching methods (more on this in a moment) and LBGTQ issues (including the “Queer-Question Straight Alliance).

Many of these schools belong to the International Coalition of 21st Century Schools, a globalist educational organization bent on the cohesion of all schools across the planet beneath one centralized governmental umbrella.  Remember that Canada is a country that is Hell-bent on becoming the Utopian Mecca of Leftists on the North American continent and are well on their merry-Socialist way to achieving that goal.  With America in non-compliance with the global push for One World Government (thanks in most part due to Trump supporters, true Conservatives, and Tea Party activists and Federalists), Canada is the sole hope for globalists who are gnashing their teeth right now toward the United States.

This discovery of the BRSD being populated in large part by globalist-minded school boards explains why the Division was so insistent that the Cornerstone Christian Academy (which serves a community of only 103 people) be harnessed and finally bow to the will of the Socialist governing Division.  Needless to say, when the Academy administrators went to the press about its woes in dealing with this authoritarian and draconian bullying, the BRSD was livid.

And in a new report from Toronto Metr, that frustration by the BRSD at the Academy not toeing the Leftist line and compromising its religious convictions has finally manifested in a nasty turn of events for the tiny Christian school.

An Alberta school board has cut ties with a Christian academy after a feud over bible verses.

Cornerstone Christian Academy in Kingman lashed out at Camrose-based Battle River School Division earlier this month, after trustees asked them to remove two controversial bible verses from a draft of the academy’s student handbook.

On Thursday, the school division penned a letter saying it will longer operate the K-12 school after June 30, 2018, ending a nine-year partnership.

“We are deeply saddened by the BRSD’s decision to terminate our agreement,” academy chair Deanna Margel said in a press release.

“It seems unwise, and completely unnecessary, to throw away years of productive co-operation in mere weeks because we’ve simply hit an unusual bump in the road.”

So, whatever you would like to think about Leftism, one thing is certain:  they are not tolerant, inclusive, or diverse.

Adversely, the Cornerstone Christian Academy will now be able to restore the word “quality” to its educational standards descriptor, but the school may be in for a very rough time without funding from the Provincial government.  That being said, it will be up to the elders of the community to search their hearts on whether or not this Academy will be worth saving.  A search of their pockets may not be a bad idea either.  Perhaps prayers will be answered and ultimately, Christians in our great country will also have the compassion to make a small donation to this hapless school.  This is the David and Goliath battle that BRSD engaged in to begin with, but that which they finally won by a very shameful action of killing the spirit, independence and freedom of a nation’s Christian population; another small nail in the coffin of the Freedom of Religion.

For my part, I’m sending a donation and I believe their endeavors will ultimately triumph and prosper.
