The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?

Everyone has rights and that is where we get caught up in this mess. For the restaurant to remove it from private property is a good thing but to change the sign itself and say they feared repercussions if they didn’t is ridiculous. I don’t know of anyone in my Muslim community that would care one way or another.
The split second they decided to conform in the interest of diversity, THEY made it a political issue. Stupid bastards. Their breakfasts aren’t even that good.
