The restaurant Sneakers Bistro in Local Winooski, Vermont has removed a sign that had the word ‘bacon’ due to Muslim opposition.
In a Facebook post, the restaurant issued the following statement, ““We are here to serve people BREAKFAST, not politics. We removed the sign that was located on public property as a gesture of respect for our diverse community. There were also concerns raised about safety (emphasis added). Removing it was not a difficult decision. We still love bacon. We still love eggs. Please have the political conversation elsewhere.”
Is the ‘safety’ factor the restaurant cited due to their fear of what would happen if they didn’t remove ‘bacon’ from their sign?

As a Christian Nation & IN deference to Catholics, we used to have Fish Fridays: as a non Catholic & someone who doesn’t like fish, I used to resent the fact that there was only fish on the menu on Friday. Eventually, the esculisitivy changed & Fish became apart of the menu NOT the only item & that’s how it should have been handled: those who wanted fish to meet their religious needs got it & those who didn’t require nor want fish didn’t have to eat it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The way I look at it, in deference to the different cultures that live in a neighborhood, IT IS OK TO ADD Muslim or What Ever dishes to your general menu: IT IS “NOT” OK TO TAKE CHRISTIAN OR OTHER FOODS AWAY NOR IS OK to expect restaurants that serve a specific menu (like Italian or Thai or Spanish or Chicken) to change their food styles to meet DIFFERENT Religious or Cultural needs….if your needs don’t coincide with your their menu…don’t go there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
