Usually you get a bargain by going out to a store and shuffling through the inventory they are seeking to get rid of. But there’s a more skilled way to get a bargain if you know what you’re doing, and you’re willing to engage in nefarious activity.
For example, let’s say you wanted to buy a business. If you had the ability to make that business fail somehow you could come in and scoop it up at an incredible bargain.
Or, perhaps you could pay off all the employees to help create a grand deception, over time tricking the owner into believing he must sell. Blackmailing the employees would also move things along. Then, when the business failed, you come in and buy it for pennies.
What the heck am I talking about here? Well, this isn’t too far off from what has happened to the United States. Someone just hit the jackpot, buying our sovereignty for chump change.
