This is simple robbery by cops who took advantage of a man engaging in an activity that, although legal, is still controversial.
All of this is in violation of the 5th Amendment, which states that the government can’t deprive citizens of “life, liberty, or property” without due process of law.
Kowalski has yet to get any of his property back and has no way to fight for his rights in court.
