Ted Cruz’s citizenship continues to be a topic of discussion in the 2016 race, and it seems its one issue in which the far-left and the far-right might agree.
At the heart of the issue is the definition of “natural born citizen.” While many consider that to mean that one must be born inside of the country in order to serve in the Oval Office, others claim that one is natural born if you have citizenship at birth. The latter theory is backed up somewhat by the nominations of both John McCain and George Romney, both of which were born outside of this country’s borders.
However, since neither man made it to the White House, no Supreme Court case has ever been brought forth that specifically tackled the issue. As such, both sides continue to wage a war of opinion.

Why not investigate Obama, we all know his father wasn’t an American, Obama was born in Kenya. All of a sudden you want to find out about Ted Cruz? He’s an American, and LOVES his country, and he’s not Muslim.
His mother is and always has been a citizen of the U.S. nothing more is needed. She could have had a donor’s sperm and he still would be a citizen. It is the law. Like Chris has noted before me, in 1934 the law was enacted the way it should have been from the start. A mother should be able to be the primary person on determining whether or not anyone is a legal citizen because she has carried that baby inside her body for 9 months. He has been a part of her. Cruz is a legal citizen because his mother has always been a citizen of the United States!!!

Under law as long as 1 parent is a US citizen the child is a US citizen. This is just another foolish argument being brought about in an attempt to keep another truly conservative Republican out of the running.
