Connecticut Governor Calls the NRA a “Terrorist” Organization

The NRA was not willing to be called a terrorist organization by Connecticut governor without a strong and stinging response.

Jennifer Baker from the NRA, released the following statement in regards to Malloy’s terrorist remarks:

“The NRA is comprised of over five million law-abiding citizens many of whom are teachers, doctors, policeman, farmers , moms  and dads residing in Connecticut. So let’s be clear Governor Malloy just called tens of thousands of his constituents terrorists.

Voters are fed up with politicians who engage in political stunts and childish name calling rather than serious policy discussions aimed at making our schools and communities safer. A perfect example is the absurd political stunt to remove NRA trainers from the permitting process in Connecticut. No organization in the world does more to promote the safe and responsible use of firearms than the NRA.

The NRA’s Basics of Pistol Shooting course is the best training available for anyone seeking to carry a concealed firearm for self-protection. Public safety isn’t improved by eliminating the NRA training and standards for Connecticut’s permit holders or by calling people who disagree with you terrorists.

NRA members love our children and want them to be safe just as much as anyone else we just disagree that punishing  law-abiding citizens who want to exercise their  constitutional  right to self-defense  is the way to achieve that goal.”

The liberals, to their shame, will pump every gun tragedy for all it’s worth and then some. They will deliberately ignore any benefits of gun ownership. And they will work tirelessly to obfuscate the clear meaning of the Second Amendment such that it is drained of any content.

This is no time for retreat. Expecting President Trump, conservatives in Congress, and the NRA to fight this battle for us represents a shirking of our responsibilities. As individual citizens, we might not be on the front lines, but we best get in the fight.

Gov. Malloy incorrectly states that America’s so-called Wild West had homicide rates that were ‘pretty big’. Listen in at 3:14:

What’s the truth about America’s Wild West? As it turns out, a highly armed populace makes for nicer people:

In his book, Frontier Violence: Another Look, W. Eugene Hollon stated that he believed “that the Western frontier was a far more civilized, more peaceful, and safer place than American society is today.”12 The legend of the “wild, wild West” lives on despite Robert Dykstra’s finding that in five of the major cattle towns (Abilene, Ellsworth, Wichita, Dodge City, and Caldwell) for the years from 1870 to 1885, only 45 homicides were reported — an average of 1.5 per cattle-trading season.13

In Abilene, supposedly one of the wildest of the cow towns, “nobody was killed in 1869 or 1870. In fact, nobody was killed until the advent of officers of the law, employed to prevent killings.”14 Only two towns, Ellsworth in 1873 and Dodge City in 1876, ever had 5 killings in any one year.15 Frank Prassel states in his book subtitled A Legacy of Law and Order, that “if any conclusion can be drawn from recent crime statistics, it must be that this last frontier left no significant heritage of offenses against the person, relative to other sections of the country.”16

  • In Abilene, Ellsworth, Wichita, Dodge City, and Caldwell, for the years from 1870 to 1885, there were only 45 total homicides.  This equates to a rate of approximately 1 murder per 100,000 residents per year.

So, what’s the homicide and violent crime rate in Connecticut?

It seems that Connecticut would do much better use some of that Wild West mentality. Don’t expect Malloy to actually do any historical research, however, as the kool-aid seems to be getting stronger with each passing year.
