CNN Pulls Investigative Team COMPLETELY OFF Trump-Russia Collusion Story

Far be it from CNN to admit that they were wrong or that a member of the Republican Party was actually NOT the villain that they portrayed him or her to be.  Remember Sarah Palin?

While this is not really a good example, considering that the entire Fake News Industrial Complex (FNIC), better known by Palin as the “lamestream media,” it does show the rampant, overarching view of the whole Leftist mentality.

CNN was 100% on board the Trump-Russia Collusion train for many months, particularly after Rachel Maddow’s show passed up every show on CNN to nearly match the highly successful Tucker Carlson show.  Maddow’s attachment to MSNBC was damaging to the CNN brand as she is just about the only thing on Leftist cable news these days that’s doing any appreciable Nielsen’s ratings against the Fox News Channel’s goliath star.

In their latest admission of guilt, sin, and stupidity at having carried not only the water for the DNC, but the pus, sludge, and sweat, they have quietly and sheepishly pulled their entire investigative news team from the Trump-Russia Collusion story and divorced themselves almost completely from that storyline!

CNN executives explicitly told their investigative team to stop looking into potential ties between the Trump administration and Russia following a series of high profile reporting errors led that to the resignation of three journalists in June.

Executives transferred all reporting duties associated with the Trump-Russia narrative to CNN’s Washington, D.C. team in the wake of a retracted June report, members of the CNN staff told The New York Times.

The report in question was removed from CNN’s website after the network admitted it could not stand by information that tied then Trump advisor Anthony Scaramucci to a Russian investment bank under Senate sanctions.

CNN’s president, Jeffrey A. Zucker, led an investigation into the mishap and found that the story, written by Pulitzer finalist Thomas Frank, was published over the concerns of CNN’s legal team. The investigation revealed that key aspects of Frank’s reporting were based on one source, who expressed trepidation with how the information was presented before the story went to print, a fact Frank failed to relay to his colleagues.

The report came after a serious of embarrassments for the network, including the firing of hosts Reza Aslan and Kathy Griffin in response to inappropriate, and in Griffin’s case threatening, public messages directed at President Donald Trump. The story also came after CNN issued a correction on an article that inaccurately predicted details of former FBI Director James Comey’s congressional testimony.

The error was also particularly damaging to CNN’s brand as it occurred as Trump was harshly criticizing the network over charges of biased coverage.

Despite the retraction, CNN has never said the story was incorrect. The network merely states that it “did not meet CNN’s editorial standards.”

Imagine that…”did not meet CNN’s editorial standards.”  Perhaps that should be translated for the less affluent Leftist readers in the audience (all 6 of them).

TRANSLATION:  “We at CNN tried like Hell to get away with all our lies and deceit and, unfortunately, got caught by a vigilant president who wasn’t afraid to call us what we really were (i.e., Fake News), therefore, we decided to pull our hacks from the story who were, quite frankly, sick of the derision and laughing and pointing on the streets whenever they went down to the local Starbucks to order their lattes.”

But don’t you six Leftie readers fret.  On a dime, CNN president Zucker can pivot back to the Trump-Russia Collusion story once Robert Mueller claims that his investigation has been interfered with by either the president or his family members.  You can make bank on that!
