Clinton’s Anti-Gun Hypocrisy

Hypocrisy of Clinton Plan to Take Your Guns

Clinton has never explained why ordinary citizens don’t deserve to have even a small measure of the protection that she has now and has had for decades, even as she pretends to be taking the moral high ground on the issue. She suggests that new regulations on gun shows and sales and expanding the definition of domestic violence and dating relationships in order to expand definitions of who can be prevented from owning guns are nothing more than protecting the public. She also wants to allow gun manufacturers to be sued by crime victims and gun stores to face greater regulation and oversight. She is also willing to implement more control by executive action if Congress refuses to do her bidding. As with most progressives, she will not admit that her end goal is total gun confiscation, though endless regulations and limitations are certainly intended to have that final result.

But in a moment of candor, on October 16th, Clinton told an audience at Keene State College that an Australian-style gun ban is “worth looking at” as it pertains to gun policy in the U.S.

You know, Australia’s a good example, Canada’s a good example, [and] the UK’s a good example. Why? Because each of them had mass killings, Australia had a huge mass killing about 20 or 25 years ago. Canada did as well, so did the UK. In reaction, they passed much stricter gun laws. In the Australian example, as I recall, that was a buyback program. The Australian government as part of trying to clamp down on the availability of…weapons offered a good price for buying hundreds of thousands of guns and basically clamped down going forward, in terms of having more of a background check approach–more of a permitting approach.

She did not mention that the Australian government ultimately prohibited most citizens from owning guns as the final outcome. Of course for Hillary, rules, regulations and laws are only for the “little” people. She is allowed to lie to Congress over Bengazi, to send classified government emails on her personal server, and to collect huge sums for her “charitable” foundation from foreign government entities seeking access and privilege without having to answer to the legal consequences that a citizen like you or I would be required to do.

And now, in these dangerous times, she is anxious to limit the ability of citizens to protect their homes, their families and their property by clamping down on basic gun ownership, even while she continues to enjoy the peace and security of being protected and watched over by well-armed, trained security people who will make sure that she never has to worry about crime in the streets or an armed thief breaking in her door.

Clinton seems to be totally oblivious to the fact that the ability to be safe and protect oneself is a right that every citizen should have, and not just privileged government workers who can ignore whatever restriction is placed on the public. So to Hillary, enjoy your armed security detail at the public’s expense, but please keep your hands off of our personal means of safety and security. It is only fair.
