A major decision that will impact Minnesotans’ privacy rights is waiting to be heard in the state’s court of Appeals.
It all started off simply enough. Jason and Jackie Wiebesick were a Golden Valley couple who lived in a duplex. One day, officials from the city approached them to ask permission to inspect their home. The stated reason was to collect information so as to make a decision over whether to renew the Wiebesick’s rental license.
Disturbed by the prospect of unfamiliar people walking around their home, the Wiebesick’s turned down the inspectors’ request. One might think it would have ended there, but the city saw to it that it didn’t.
Taking the case to court, Golden Valley authorities implored a county judge to issue a warrant overriding the Wiebesick’s objections and allowing them into the house. Tellingly, the judge refused their request for a warrant, prompting the city to reach even higher.

The answer, MOVE to a state that still has it’s sanity. MISSOURI.
This city shold be sued and made ot stop this on citizens who have rights,
Get the search warrant!
Our Construction is a timeless document. It must followed to protect citizens’ rights. Don’t keep any politician in office that thinks otherwise. I’ve seen George Washington’s copy of the US Constitution. It is as real as the air we breathe. We have to vote smart.
I am not surprised by this! Attended the MN state fair a few years back and was asked to sign a petition for a state issue. When I told them I was from IL the guy said sign it anyways. I thought he was joking but then I realized he was still wanting me to sign the petition.
get a warrant, they should NOT be able to enter without a warrant
Ahh more gestapo tactics
Don’t know about that…the nuts let there let a towns businesses be pillaged and destroyed without shooting the offenders on the spot.
If they suspect illegal is going on. Then it is law they can search without a warrant. Why would they want to search anyone’s home. They have children.Anyone can say. Oh iam not doing anything. Mean old city needs to back off
True, there is one town in MO where the governor allowed Obama to decide its fate. If the cities in MO are left to there own devices, most decisions are sane.
