A major decision that will impact Minnesotans’ privacy rights is waiting to be heard in the state’s court of Appeals.
It all started off simply enough. Jason and Jackie Wiebesick were a Golden Valley couple who lived in a duplex. One day, officials from the city approached them to ask permission to inspect their home. The stated reason was to collect information so as to make a decision over whether to renew the Wiebesick’s rental license.
Disturbed by the prospect of unfamiliar people walking around their home, the Wiebesick’s turned down the inspectors’ request. One might think it would have ended there, but the city saw to it that it didn’t.
Taking the case to court, Golden Valley authorities implored a county judge to issue a warrant overriding the Wiebesick’s objections and allowing them into the house. Tellingly, the judge refused their request for a warrant, prompting the city to reach even higher.
See video about the case on the next page:
Violation of the 4 & 5 Amendments to the Constitution. Unlawful
This is against the 4th Amendment and any judge who would allow it should be run out of office PDQ.

We are losing all our rights. We are becoming subjects, not citizens.
Now when we the people who are fed up with this type of over reach elect a president who feels the same gives the people the right to counter sue these municipalities things will change back to common sense. Maybe withholding federal highway funds from any state that allows this would change their minds as well. This unconstitutional power grab c**p MUST end.
F**k off city
TRY IT AT MY HOUSE THEN IT IS YOU OR ME I KILL ANY ONE THAT TRIES THIS IN MY HOUSE IDK COPS OR GOVERNMENT!! INVADE MY PRIVACY FOR NO REASON GET YOUR$#%&!@*SHOT OFF FOR IT!!!
Grow up already….if you run rental property then the City has the right to inspect the property to make sure it meets the code. When they signed up for the licence I’m sure the inspection clause was part of the deal. Because they choose to live in the other half of the duplex they are subject to the code inspection since it covers the whole structure. If they don’t wish to consent then they can feel free to stop renting the other half. If I were the city I wouldn’t even p**s around them. I would just deny the license and tack an eviction notice on the other half of the duplex. Your 4th ammendment rights do not entitle you to violate the building/fire code and risk the lives of others be renting dangerous housing.
P.S. Take your lithium, Obama has nothing to do with this
No rights lost. They asked, couple said no. They requested a warrant and were denied. That’s the proper way it is handled. Of course…the city can refuse to renew their rental license, and be within their rights.
Steve, “you don’t have the right”? Do some research. They don’t have the “right”!,(
