Chelsea Clinton Likens Confederacy to Lucifer

George H.W. Bush declined to send a wreath to the Confederate Memorial in the Arlington National Cemetery in 1991 and 1992.  This was a tradition that many presidents had stood by for 100 years.  Some presidents had declined to do so, but for the most part, this was viewed as a real non-sequitur in political circles.  In other words, it really didn’t matter a whole hill of beans if the president participated or not.  Until Bush.  There were a few who felt it was disrespectful.  Bill Clinton never said so publically, but when he defeated Bush in his second go-around for the presidency, one of the first official things that the “New Democrat,” President Bill Clinton did was resume the tradition in 1993 of placing that commemorative wreath at the Confederate Memorial.

Of course, that was then and this now.  Something that happened so long ago for the Democrat Party is not news anymore and they cannot and should not be held accountable for it, particularly if (at the time) it was not condemnable, right?

For instance, if 4 months ago, an ambassador was murdered and dragged through the streets of a US defeated military compound in, say, Libya, and the Democrats who were in charge of such a debacle and military blunder were being pointed at, the appropriate response would be, “That was a long time ago already.”  Rush Limbaugh made a good point of that a few years ago, remember:

So Benghazi, that’s “a long time ago.” “Benghazi happened a long time ago.” I mean, why is everybody bringing that up now? Yet everything remains the fault of George W. Bush. From the Weekly Standard: “White House spokesman Jay Carney said in response to a question about the September 11, 2012 Benghazi terror attack that it ‘happened a long time ago.’ ‘Let’s be clear,’ said Carney.

“‘Benghazi happened a long time ago. We are unaware of any agency blocking an employee who would like to appear before Congress to provide information related to Benghazi.’” Really? See, this is the modus operandi of the regime — any Democrat regime, actually. You stonewall it for a few months, and then after a few months go by you say, “It’s an old story.” Didn’t Watergate happen a long time ago? It still seems to be really relevant, Watergate.

So, just to be clear, if it happened a long time ago (in other words, greater than 4 months ago) then it no longer matters…IF YOU’RE A DEMOCRAT.  That’s the key ingredient here.  In other words, Jimmy Carter may have posed for a picture with the Confederate flag, but that was then.  Now, it’s a crime in Democrat circles.

CIE2HBhUcAAt22eSo, the above photo doesn’t matter…avert your eyes, Democrats!  This never happened…LA, LA, LA, I can’t hear you!

And if you happen to belong to a political party that celebrates a former KKK member, that’s okay, as long as he’s not still openly supporting those positions.

clinton-byrdThis is not about the past, this is about the present, people!  Do not get distracted by the fact that these people said these things or supported these ideals before, because they’re Democrats.  What they did before doesn’t matter.

Chelsea Clinton wants you to know how she feels about this detestable Confederacy thing going on right now.  She thinks it’s the most disgusting thing that someone can support and she’s out there tweeting frantically to let everyone know that the likeness of Satan is the equivalent of the Confederate flag.

She doesn’t go into much detail, because (quite frankly) she did attend many Confederate Flag Day celebrations and events while her dad was Governor of Arkansas, and there’s certainly no mention of her dad sleeping around with half his staff during that time as being co-equal to say, Lucifer, but you’re falling for that old Right-wing trap again!  You’re equating how you should be reacting to a story about Republicans (even if its a fake news story about…I dunno…traveling with a dog on top of your car) with how you should be ignoring what happens to a Democrat!

In the midst of the recent debate regarding Confederate statues in America, former first daughter Chelsea Clinton took to Twitter to share her thoughts on the subject. In a tweet that has now been shared over 89,000 times and liked roughly 27,000 times, Hillary Clinton’s daughter likened Confederate statues in America to hypothetical statues of Lucifer in Christian churches.

Appearing to address the failed rebellion of the Confederacy, 37-year-old Chelsea Clinton noted that, in her experience at least, Christians aren’t about honoring rebels. She went on to cite the story of Lucifer, a rebellious angel (also commonly known as Satan), and the fact that she’s never been to a Christian church featuring a statue of Lucifer.

Clinton’s tweet clearly likened the current Confederate statue drama (should they stay or should they go?) with the Bible story of Lucifer, the failed rebel. Many Americans have argued that Confederate statues should stay because they represent a significant part of the history of the U.S. On the opposing sides, opponents of keeping Confederate statues erected in public spaces claim that neither America nor Americans have any obligation to honor or memorialize the losers of a failed rebellion.

Another Twitter warrior took offense to Chelsea Clinton’s lack of designation between “monuments” and “statues,” suggesting that because the Confederate statues in question are actually monuments, they deserve special consideration and protection.

Still others, not surprisingly, pointed out to Chelsea that artistic depictions of Lucifer, in the form of stained glass, sculpture, and paintings, actually do exist in Christian churches the world over, such as th[e] stained glass rendering of the temptation of Christ by Lucifer (the Devil) at the Strasbourg cathedral in France.

[D]evils carved onto a pillar of the church of Chatellerault in France are another example.

While they are not worshiped, honored, or revered, they do provide history and context of a key biblical concept.

Liberals didn’t seem to have a big issue when cross-dresser Ru Paul decided to don a gown that featured the flag in all its…boldness.

And it’s not like the Clintons aren’t really good at being chummy with the Confederacy…after all, it’s really just a part of their heritage!  Even during their campaigns, we all remember the Confederate flag pins and signs for the Clintons.

I know what you’re going to say.  “That was a long time ago!”  How about less than a year ago?

Hillary-_Clinton-_Campaign-_Button

Is it just me, or does anyone remember the FNIC demanding Hillary resoundingly and specifically condemning this pin?  Perhaps I just missed the headlines on the internet on Yahoo News and Huffington Post and in the New York Times front page.  Maybe I didn’t tune in that month while the crawls along the bottom of the screen on MSNBC and CNN showed that Hillary didn’t condemn this pin loud enough the first time.

Oh, that’s right.  That’s because it never happened.  Weird…

So, the conclusion I’ve made is that Chelsea is beginning to warm up to the idea that, between the genes she inherited from both her father and her mother, she should be able to now sufficiently run for president in the future.  She will be able to balance the sleeping around on her husband with the shrillness and adoption of southern accents and blend them perfectly to be the ace-in-the-hole candidate of the Party of the Jackass in the coming years!

And maybe…just maybe…she flip-flop on this silly Confederate business because, as we have demonstrated here today, it really doesn’t matter what happens in your past…if you’re a Democrat.
