Now we know why some liberal politicians are so disgusted by Donald Trump’s illegal immigration plans.
It certainly isn’t because they care about the welfare of illegal immigrants. In 2013, congressional Republicans offered Democrats an opportunity to pass legislation that provided illegal immigrants with a path to legal status. The Democrats passed — no doubt because Republicans might receive some of the credit.
And it isn’t because they’re ideologically opposed to wall building or deportations. In 1995, Democrat President Bill Clinton called for quicker deportations of illegal aliens and increased border security during his State of the Union address. Eleven years later, his wife voted in favor of the Secure Fence Act — a bill that would build a wall on America’s southern border.
As it turns out, the real reason may be more personal for some Democrats.

Are we supposed to get all emotional about this? You created your own mess. Most of those members of your family have probably been here long enough to actually try to assimilate, learn the language, pay taxes etc., but they probably haven’t done any of that. And they probably don’t think they should have to. If one of us, American Citizens, would not be allowed to live and stay in Mexico or any other country for that matter without the appropriate papers and indoctrination, neither should these people, family or not.
