Should you as a parent be informed that your elementary school child would be attending a gay pride school assembly – complete with a gay choir singing about homosexual freedom?
Many parents are outraged when the Glenview Elementary school in Oakland, California didn’t inform them that their kids, as young as 5, would be mandated to attend a recent school assembly where the gay lifestyle would be promoted.

This was not to tell kids that gay is the way to be….it was to educate them that there are gays out there and they have rights! All of this gays are bad bullsh!t is not as bad as all these thug wannabes, no matter their race….and people more concerned with Kim and Kanye’s life…and OMG, zombie apocalypse!!!! Wow, nice priorities people!!!!! Yes, the way the school went about it was wrong but all schools for the proper age groups should be doing this. You should be MORE concerned with the rate of bullying/teen suicide, yet it’s probably kids with parents like you that are the problem because you teach them to hate and fear someone who is different! You should be more concerned with the amount of police brutality against dogs and unarmed citizens!!!! You should be more concerned with the state of our country…people are coming in legally and illegally when our economy is very bad!!! We are overpopulated, and our freedoms are being taken away!!!! For all the high and mighty god fearing folks, if your faith blinds you so much to hatred of anything different…why the heck are your kids still in public schools??? Put them in your faith based schools or homeschool them! Public is exactly as it stands for…public!! In our country public is made up of all kinds of diversity!!! Blacks, whites, Mexicans, Asians, girls, boys, Christians, Catholics, Wiccan, pagan, atheists, vegans, meat eaters, and guess what??? They all have that wonderful opportunity to attend public schools!!! Some of them are straight, bi, gay, asexual, and allies to say we all deserve RESPECT AND FREEDOM!!
Hell YES they should be informed! Stop pushing your beliefs on everyone else!

Problem is parents don’t EDUCATE…they normally give biased opinions!!! Don’t believe me, read the above comments!!! Not to mention, the problem with the assembly was three parts!! 1) parents were not notified. 2) it was mandatory and it shouldn’t have been. 3) some kids were too young to fully grasp that the assembly was to educate and accept gays as people, not disgusting things!!!
And all people want to complain about is how the assembly was for gays and god was left out!!
Glenview is like a pimp trying to turn out little kids. Be gay , if you’re gay. But don’t force your $#%&!@* onto others.
