This week, Bruce Springsteen claimed that he was standing amount “embarrassed Americans”.
This coming from the man who sings “Born in the USA,” but the signs were there all along. Springsteen’s hit may sound like a patriotic jam, but its intention is often misheard or misunderstood. With lyrics like “So they put a rifle in my hand / Sent me off to a foreign land / To go and kill the yellow man,” the song was a political statement from the very beginning.
The anti-war/anti-America message may have been subtle then, but now Springsteen is making his displeasure with the United States known across the world. His most overt criticism of his home country came this week during a concert in Melbourne, Australia.
See Bruce Springsteen’s full statement on the next page:

Beth: Used to be a fan, but quickly dropping out of that due to your anti-American remarks and actions. What a shame to let your personal political preferences mix into your music career. We look to music for entertainment and relaxation and NOT for politics.
Bruce are embarrassed by you and any the Hollywood cry babies.
Don’t speak for me! Get a life. Going around apologizing just like Obama did!
Retire Bruce your music sucks
I’d be embarrassed to watch this little pansies concert
Douche and hairy Chunt roll combined
He needs to stay overseas. Go get em Trump.
Hey Bruce. Why don’t you shut the F up and dance, juggle, sing, whatever. Don’t care to hear your political opinions. I don’t go to a restaurant and ask my server who I should vote for. That individuals opinion would be uninvited just as yours is. Shut your pie hole and play the music people paid to see.
Bitch Springsteen.
He should stay.
