Brits See Red, Catching Migrants Stealing Flowers, Toy From Manchester Bombing Memorial

McNally, and then others, witnessed the men taking flowers and a toy from the memorial and starting to walk away. That’s when McNally confronted them.

He marched over to them and asked ‘what are you playing at, lads?’ One of them replied saying: ‘I like flowers. Flowers very nice.’ After being ordered to put them back by Mark they said that they did not know the flowers had been put there to remember the dead.”

McNally was livid over the Manchester bombing, but managed to control himself, and begin filming the two before confronting them.

I saw one of the guys with flowers in his hands and originally I thought he was going to put them on the memorial but then I saw them walking away with them.”

A passerby that night, Tyler Willerton, helped McNally by chasing down the men as they walked away. He took the flowers back and returned them to the memorial.

After Mark shared his video on social media, it sparked an intense backlash from outraged viewers.

Philip J. Reynolds tweeted: “I saw a video this morning of people stealing children’s toys & flowers from a memorial in #Manchester. What is wrong with people?”

Both McNally and Willerton noted that because of the number of terrorist incidents that have occurred over the past 16 years, people in general worldwide understand what these types of public tributes represent and that the mementos left should be treated with respect.
