Bill Clinton: Press Went Easy on Obama Because “They Liked Having the First African-American President”


So the political press went easy former President Barack Obama not because he danced a good Monster Mash for the swamp, but because he was black, according to Bill Clinton.

On this week’s broadcast of CBS’s “Sunday Morning,” Clinton addressed several topics, including the Monica Lewinsky scandal and the fact that that he knew the attempt to impeach him would not succeed.

“Well, I knew it wouldn’t succeed,” Clinton said. “It wasn’t a pleasant experience. But it was a fight that I was glad to undertake after the elections, when the people had solidly told, by two-thirds or more, the Republicans to stop it. They knew there was nothing impeachable. And so, we fought it to the end. And I’m glad.” Clinton later said that if the Muller investigation had happened to a Democrat that impeachment would have already occurred.
