Joe Biden has never been the sharpest knife in the drawer. It is difficult to understand how he has been able to stay in office these many years when he repeatedly shows he does not understand the law, the Constitution, or even common sense. Perhaps he has been Obama’s insurance policy against a much deserved impeachment effort since the public is rightfully terrified of replacing the out of control, would be emperor Obama with the village idiot Biden.
When a sitting president reaches the end of his term, the party pole position generally is awarded to the vice president. The 2016 presidency, however, was seen as the horrid Hillary Clinton’s rightful prize, and Joe decided to sit this one out. But Clinton is now facing a possible indictment, and the public seems to have caught on that she does not have an honest or pleasant bone in her body, and she could very well be too damaged to survive even the primaries.
And crazy uncle Bernie Sanders is gathering steam among panicked Democrat communists, but still seems an embarrassment to rational U.S. citizens. So it may actually be Joe who takes a second look at the race and decides he still has time to throw his hat into the ring.

Its called “The Overton Window of political possibilities”. Its a technique of manipulating perception until something unthinkable seems reasonable. Small objectives are achieved until radical ideas are perceived as acceptable. Its also applied by inmates to get staff to smuggle contraband, espionage agents to get people to betray their country, and salespeople to convince people to spend more than they intended.
Gun control only benefits the criminal. Criminals don’t fear the law, why would they they are all stacked in their favor. They don’t fear the police. The only thing they fear is selecting a mark that refuses to be a victim. They fear victims that are alert, armed and able to fight back.
Its basic biology the higher the concentration of prey, the higher the population of predator. Instead of trying to create laws to restrict guns. How about laws to restrict criminals? How about cleaning up the self defense laws to actually reduce victims, how about laws to actually protect victims instead of criminals, how about actually doing something to protect the honest for once?
Routine activity theory states that three things are needed for a crime to occur. A committed criminal, a likely victim, and the lack of a capable guardian. Giving people the means to increase their capability of protecting themselves reduces crime. When criminals are not sure if their crimes will succeed they move on to softer targets. Rational thought theory states that criminals choose their victims by the likeliness if their success. Criminals measure success in two ways, completion of the crime, and escape without detection or injury. Criminals are cowards, they will not attack when they are not certain they won’t be hurt.
If you want to stop “gun violence” make it so that the criminals are the ones taking the risk. Make due process about making sure criminals get a fair trial, not about making sure criminals get as little punishment as possible. Make it so criminals are financially responsible for the damage they cause, restitution for their victims medical bills, property damage, lost work days. Make it so criminals cannot sue their victims, period, ever. Clean up the laws, reduce NPEs, reduce the bureaucracy required to obtain concealed carry permits. Or better yet just freaking recognize the Constitution as the law. Make it easy for victims to protect themselves, and hard for criminals to operate. Make it expensive for criminals, and cheap for honest people.
