Ben Carson: “If we can implement those policy ideas, among others, nobody would want Obamacare

Ben Carson believes that one of the most important issues facing our nation is education.  With the inner schools completely failing, the cycle is inevitable—those who grow up in poverty are left with no way out.  And he should know, he grew up in inner city Detroit, raised by a single mother who had a third grade education.

“Providing parents with the freedom to choose their child’s school would cause the schools that are failing our children–for the purpose of survival–to improve. It’s a win win situation,” Dr. Carson said.

What about Obamacare?  As a Doctor he is well qualified to speak on this issue:

I would have a different plan than Obamacare, one that works for all Americans. My plan would include health savings accounts, from birth to death. Transitional health care benefits that can be handed down to your family members after you pass. People should have the ability to shift funds in their health savings account within their family, giving them enormous flexibility to cover cost should an emergency arise. This would drive down the cost of catastrophic health insurance. Allowing health insurance to be purchased across state lines would also decrease costs. Improving the economy will in turn reduce the number of people who rely on Medicaid.

On immigration, he has much to say–specially on illegal immigrants:

Number one, we must secure the border. It is doable. We have the ability to do it. We just don’t have the political will to do it. Once we seal the border, we must crack down on those who hire illegal immigrants. If there are no jobs, then there’s no reason for them to come. Then we deal with the ones who are here already. Anyone who has overstayed their visa, they’re breaking the law. And they should be treated as criminals. I think it would be a very smart policy, also, that if the country they came from doesn’t take their citizen back, that’s 10 visas that will not be issued to citizens of that country in the future. This puts pressure on other countries to honor our immigration laws.

In terms of the others who have come here, we can allow them to become guest workers. They will be given a window in which they have to apply. This does not make them eligible for benefits. If they want health care, for instance, then they will have to pay for health care. This does not give them a right to vote. This does not make them citizens. Illegal immigrants with criminal records won’t be given the opportunity to apply for our guest worker program.

As far as the Liberal idea that what is needed is more social programs, welfare and special rules for minorities, Carson believes that is exactly what is wrong.

…Liberals and progressives often put forth the narrative that blacks are victims. I reject that idea. We have the responsibility to help each other. That’s what true compassion is all about. Allowing people to ascend out of the depths of dependency so they can become shining examples of success. And that’s what I’m all about.

Some say Carson’s personality is the “anti-Trump”—were Trump comes off larger than life with much passion, Carson’s measured speech and calmness plays as well, what they both embody is that both men as “just being who they are” and that comes off as truth–they are not over managed it seems by some staffers who like Hillary, have to announce the candidate is going on a “like ability” campaign”.

So where is Carson getting all his money from?  Reports say he is heavily funded by individual donors:

Of the campaign’s 232,670 total contributions in the second quarter, nearly 228,800, or 98%, were for less than $200. Under that threshold, the campaign isn’t required to disclose the donors’ names. Nearly 5,000—or $2.7 million—were for more than $200, the campaign said. In the second quarter of 2011, by contrast, only 7% of donations to Mr. Romney were for less than $200.

Just 197 donors gave the primary-campaign maximum contribution of $2,700 in the second quarter.

Among those maxed out donors are the evangelical Christian billionaires and founders of Hobby Lobby Stores Inc., Barbara and David Green. The Oklahoma City arts-and-craft chain and other companies mounted a Supreme Court challenge to the Affordable Care Act last year by saying their religions considered certain birth-control methods immoral and that they weren’t obliged to help provide them under the religious-freedom law. The court ruled in their favor.

For additional names of Carson’s big donor’s go here.  Carson became a household name among the grassroots conservative’s who identify more as “conservatives” and not “republican”,  as they see the problem is old establishment party system, and they want the emphasis on the Constitution, not the cronyism.

Below is the “coming out” speech from the “Day of Prayer” breakfast 2014, where Carson verbally slaps Obama on the problems with America under his leadership.  The video starts at a certain point where he makes some crystal clear observations and musings obviously directed at Obama.  Many would love to see a Trump/Carson ticket–others say no–we want a Carson/Trump ticket…only time will tell.
