Backlash as New York High School Organizes ‘Hijab Day’ for Non-Muslim Students

When a local reporter asked whether it puts pressure on the kids who don’t want to participate, the school board president, Van Henri White said that they didn’t see any of that. It’s easy to not notice things when you have an agenda. Just look at our president.

Many parents and commenters online were offended, nonetheless.

“What lesson will they wear a Yarmulke in? Or the Christian cross? Or the Hindu turban?” Dan Lane posted. “Funny how it always seems to be the Muslims they learn about, even in Common Core.”

“How disgusting and irresponsible for any educator to encourage a child to wear a symbol of oppression, whether it be religious or cultural,” Rebecca Sluman wrote.

“Don’t you kids dare wear a shirt with the American flag on it, someone WILL be offended,” Rick Bentley added.

Why is this acceptable? Why are religious lessons in schools only taught when they revolve around the religion of Islam? But don’t you dare speak out against it. That’ll make you racist and intolerant. Even though religion has nothing to do with race, that’s the typical liberal response. Parents are upset, and they have every right to be.
