The Apparent ‘Disastrous’ Defeat of Ryancare Might Have Been Just a Tactic by President Trump

It’s been rather obvious from the start that any support Speaker Paul Ryan has given President Trump has been either artificial or was offered because he had to. Mr. Ryan is neither a fan of the president nor a supporter of his agenda, as leaked audio reveal where the man stated he would never support our President. So could the president’s actions in response to the apparent defeat of the Republican healthcare bill be part of a larger plan?

The Gateway Pundit thinks that might just be the case.

Did Trump give Paul Ryan just enough rope to hang himself? It is no secret that Paul Ryan has contempt for President Trump and is working to sabotage him. This may Trump’s plan to have Paul Ryan ousted and replaced.

It is a mixed bag of emotions today after the Obamacare repeal failed to pass. The replacement, dubbed ‘Ryancare’ was highly unpopular and often referred to as ‘Obamacare 2.0’. Of course we want Obamacare repealed, however; we don’t want another big government solution to replace it. Today’s ‘failure’ may have paved the path to a conservative solution.

So what is that “path to a conservative solution?”

Many people are now speculating why Donald Trump seemed to support this unpopular solution. It did fall on Paul Ryan’s shoulders as he gave a press conference afterwards looking very defeated. Calls for his resignation are getting louder and louder.

President Trump knows that with Paul Ryan as House Speaker, he won’t be able to accomplish any of his goals. He knows that Paul Ryan is working against him at every turn. This may have been the perfect set up to have Paul Ryan replaced.

So with the Democrats rejoicing and the Republicans in apparent disarray, what does President Trump do next? In this case, Breitbart fills in the details:

Trump gave Speaker Paul Ryan and the House Republican leadership enough rope to hang themselves. Instead of dictating terms to him, they will now depend on him to save them, politically. They must accept whatever plan he will put forward.

But Trump will not make the next move. He will let the conservatives move first. They are the big winners in the first round — much more so than the Democrats, who are enjoying the spectacle of Republican dysfunction but have no role to play yet.

The conservatives will proceed with their demand for a full repeal of Obamacare. And then they will face the ire of voters who are deeply unhappy with Obamacare but upset about losing the paltry, expensive health insurance they currently have.

That, too, will strengthen Trump, and convince conservatives they need his leadership.

This is all a theory, of course, and we must watch as things work out to see if it is the correct theory.

One thing that is not theory, however, is that President Trump knows how to accomplish his goals. Remember, he won the presidency against all odds and against the most powerful political machine in recent years — the Clintons. Passing a healthcare plan he supports seems like a minor task in comparison.
