Alexandria Shooter Had Assassination List In Pocket

Given the sensitivity of the investigation, the FBI has not confirmed the list’s existence, but one of the men on it has admitted the FBI has contacted him.

Multiple sources have indicated the following representatives are on Hodgkinson’s list: Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan, Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan, Tennessee Rep. Scott DesJarlais and Virginia Rep. Morgan Griffith.

All six congressmen are members of the House Freedom Caucus, which contains the lower chamber’s most conservative members.”

Representative Franks has confirmed to Fox News that law enforcement officials told him his name was on the list. Of those listed, both Brooks and Duncan were at the baseball practice the morning of the shooting.

In fact, Duncan believes he encountered the shooter in the parking lot as the congressman was leaving practice. Hodgkinson allegedly asked if the people practicing were Democrats or Republicans. Duncan informed him they were members of the GOP.

Brooks was still on the practice field when Hodgkinson opened fire. He quickly took cover in the dugout with other House members and their aides.

Although the FBI has not confirmed the list, it’s reported a cell phone, computer and camera were recovered from the shooter’s van and are being processed for evidence. The FBI’s Washington field office is handling the investigation.

Among the lingering questions are the exact motive of Hodgkinson, whether he was working in concert with anyone, and if he’d been paid during his time in Alexandria prior to the shooting. The mainstream media will keep playing the “lone wolf” scenario, but there’s more to this situation than meets the eye.

The horrific incident and news of the list have prompted a discussion about whether congressmen should received concealed carry permits so they can be armed to defend themselves and their families.

The presence of Capitol Police special agents on Wednesday as security for House Majority Whip Steve Scalise prevented a massacre, but it seems unrealistic for the government to staff up and provide similar protection to every member of Congress.

Recent disruptions by angry left-wingers and paid protesters at Republican town halls in members’ districts have raised concerns that members may be at the same risk as the GOP baseball team was on Wednesday.

Hodgkinson’s social media accounts reveal the 66-year old progressive was allied with hard leftists who advocate violence against President Trump and the GOP in general.

It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co,” Hodgkinson wrote in one post. He also belonged to several anti-GOP groups on Facebook, including one called “Terminate The Republican Party.” The members of that group celebrated Hodgkinson’s mass assassination attempt.”

Another strange aspect to the story is the reaction of Hodgkinson’s widow Suzanne who claimed on Thursday she had no idea of her husband’s plot and that he’d told her he was going to Washington to “work on taxes.”

An avid Bernie Sanders supporter and campaign volunteer, Hodgkinson used social media to rail against the wealthy and call for higher taxes on them.
