Ailes: Donald Trump asked for $5 Million Donation to Charities to Participate in Debate

Fox News Chief Roger Ailes is telling his side of the Donald Trump/Fox News story, and it varies quite a bit from Donald’s recollection of the week’s events:

Fox News boss Roger Ailes released the following statement to CNN media reporter Dylan Byers:

The most interesting aspect of Ailes’ statement is no doubt the assertion that Trump refused to cooperate unless $5 million was donated charity. Trump has called on networks to do this before, but none so far have given in to his demands. They claim it would be a conflict of interest if money were to change hands, while Trump insists that the sky-high ad revenue taken in from the debates are a direct result of his participation.

With both sides at an impasse over the issue, no resolution was made in time for Trump to appear at the debate. Was this the right choice for Trump, and was he right to demand that money be donated? That’s a decision for you, the voter, as it seems neither side it ready to give in and admit defeat.
