Afghan Refugee Injures 19 in Axe Attack on German Train


Police have not identified the attacker yet, but it is known where he lived prior to his horrific crime. Although he initially stayed at a refugee camp like many of his fellow immigrants, the suspect managed to win the sympathy of a German foster family, with whom he ended up living with for two weeks before he endeavoured on his campaign of terror:

Groteqsque images printed in German newspapers showed lino-covered floors of the regional train RB 58130 travelling from Treuchtlingen to Würzburg awash with blood.

Following the attack, the 17-year-old refugee then went on the run, with a huge police force, including a helicopter, in pursuit.

A police spokesman confirmed he has since been shot while fleeing the scene.

Joachim Herrmann, Bavarian’s interior minister described the event as a “truly terrible act, one we have never experienced in Bavaria before.”

The attacker, who has not yet been named, lived with a German foster family in the nearby town of Ochsenfurt for two weeks having previously lived in a refugee camp, according to local media.

The terrifying incident occured last night, with at least 19 have been injured, although the number could still rise.

A large number of emergency vehicles are now at the scene, tending to people who were hurt in the deranged attack, while an air ambulance is currently en route.

Four of the victims are thought to be in a critical condition, while at least fourteen have moderate injuries. Others have minor injuries.

The Wurzburg-Heidingsfeld to Ochsenfurt train line has now been closed in the wake of the attack.

The incident took place on a regional train which was busy with late evening commuters.

The terror threat level in Germany is currently high, with British tourists warned to take care when travelling.
