The Confederacy has long been a controversial topic in the United States. While the state has long been associated with racism and slavery, many modern southerners view the Confederacy as an important part of southern heritage.
Until recently, relics of the Confederate States of America have been allowed throughout the south for historical purposes, but in today’s politically correct climate, many of those monuments have been forcibly removed.
Last year, statues of Robert E. Lee, the commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, were removed from locals parks in Virgina. The contractor who removed the statues found his Lamborghini torched in response.
Now, more statues of the former general are coming down across the state — at huge cost.

Didn’t he play for Ozzy on Bark and Ultimate?
Leave it the hell alone
Most of those screaming for the removal are ignorant of the very history of our nation !
Covering up more history, truly sad.
No protests, just roll over and let them dictate what history will be remembered. That statue has been there for as long as I remember and now it is offensive. BS! YOU ARE OFFENSIVE!
Removing the statue offends me. Who can I sue?
THIS STATUE NEEDS TO STAND……..IT’S OUR HEREDITY!!!
Leave history alone.
The left really remind me of Isis…
The way they LOVE to erase history..
At least Isis just destroys it, the left pays tons and tons of money to destroy history…Why wouldn’t you have a statue of a civil war era general, in a civil war pathway…I don’t care if he is from the north or south, this is OUR history….F the people that are ruining this country
A people who refuse to look at their past are bound to repeat it. A foolish and naive decision to destroy or try to revise our Nation’s history. Why in the world do we always have to feel ” comfortable?” That makes for a lazy, apathetic society!
