The Confederacy has long been a controversial topic in the United States. While the state has long been associated with racism and slavery, many modern southerners view the Confederacy as an important part of southern heritage.
Until recently, relics of the Confederate States of America have been allowed throughout the south for historical purposes, but in today’s politically correct climate, many of those monuments have been forcibly removed.
Last year, statues of Robert E. Lee, the commander of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, were removed from locals parks in Virgina. The contractor who removed the statues found his Lamborghini torched in response.
Now, more statues of the former general are coming down across the state — at huge cost.

This Is very Damn stupid leave the Statue the F*ck alone It’s a part of our Heritage and there Isn’t anything Racist about It If you take that Statue down you should go to Washington and take down the Lincon Statue.
Debby Masterson
Debby, did you know that the Irish were in fact the first enslaved people of the U.S.?
Did you know that due to slavery of the Irish, they were nearly exterminated out of existance? The English had killed or enslaves over 2/3 of the entire Irish population.
Why don’t people know this? Well, it’s because it was first not allowed to make monuments of it and eventually it was not allowed to be represented in paintings and eventuaully not allowed to be in history books and now it simply isn’t talked about.
Have you heard of the hundreds of thousands of Armenians killed by the Turks?
How many people today even know that Stalin killed over 30 million Ukrianians? Mao killed over 70 million people that didn’t agree with him, so he sent them to his re-education camps where they simply disappeared.
How about the millions of people killed by Leopole?
Are you aware that of the 3% of Americans that owned slaves, about half of all slaves owned were owned by black people?
Did you know that the first black slaved owned in America, was owned by a black man?
Did you know that the first slave trade business in America was started by that same black man?
Did you know that the first millionaire women in America was a black woman?
Did you know that blacks (freemen) fought in the American Revolution?
Did you know that a black man rode with Paul Rivear to warn folks the British were coming? In fact, it was the black man that saved the community that Pual wared, because the support that came to help and defeat those where Paul rode off too came due to the black guy that told them to come help.
I could go on dear, but you go ahead and tell yourself that history isn’t lost when we don’t keep it alive in art and in monuments.
But dear, there is a reason everyone sure as hell remmbers$#%&!@*.. and trust me all the paintings and monuments of him are not a tribute of appreication.
Are we losing it mentally he is history leave the statue alone if we can wear female parts on our heads to symbolize something and it’s ok with society then we can leave old statues in their place! Grow up America we have a history and it’s ok because it shows how far we’ve come as a country!
Virginia is too close to Washington, it’s beginning to rub off.
Even in the Bible.
Just like the Muslims trying to destroy history in every country they attack some here are doing in America by trying to shame us.and we are letting them get away with it .Now is the time to stop them with the help of President Trump.GOD BLESS AMERICA!
History forgotten or not taught is history that will be repeated. The oppression of a new world order.
Liberals trying to rewrite history! Just like Obama did!
So when do we start removing names from the declaration of Independence because there were slave owners? Get over it ppl. It happened. It’s part of history.
And for what?? Does it offend some$#%&!@*mother fuckers???? Deal with it!!! He was an American just the same!! Slavery wasn’t the ONLY reason for that war…. Look it up….. If you’re able!!!!
