44 States Defy Trump Investigative Commission

Donald Trump wants to get tough on voter fraud, but almost no states are willing to help. This is a problem, considering elections are handled by the states rather than the federal government. Without their compliance, Trump’s efforts to end voter fraud will be dead on arrival.

Forty-four out of 50 states will not fulfill the Trump administration’s request for specific details about their voters, according to CNN.

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach (R), who is vice chairman of President Trump’s voter fraud commission, sent a letter to every state last week requesting certain voter data.

CNN reported that as of Tuesday afternoon, Hawaii and New Jersey had not responded to its inquiry into the matter.

Florida and Nebraska are reportedly analyzing the panel’s request, while six states are still waiting for a letter from the commission.

Four of those states – Michigan, New Mexico, South Carolina and West Virginia – have already refused to comply with the administration’s request, according to CNN.

Many on Twitter came to the same conclusion — if so many states are opposing the investigation, there must be much more fraud than was previously thought. Their refusal to cooperate is all the more proof that this commission is sorely needed.
