Not only were the Brexiteers and Trumpsters correct about getting out of the fast-decomposing European Union (EU), they were also dead-on right when they said that the EU was nothing more than a regime designed to suck the life out of every sovereign nation in its midst.
A single law in Britain, one that forces the government to release classified documents 30 years following their publication or passage, has opened up a torrential flood of criticism. The document, entitled FOC30/1048 (which stands for Foreign & Commonwealth Office) was prepared all the way back in the 1970s. The document has no recorded author, oddly enough. Perhaps this information has since been scrubbed in order to avoid the resulting humiliation for its public release. Its chief supporter was a man named Sir Edward Heath, the leader of the Conservative Party from 1965-1975.
