As a former Soldier, I can testify that Army generals can be stupid and ignorant. In fact most of them since at least the sixties–they have lost the ability to know their enemy and win a war. If I was his Commander in Chief, I would cashier him for insubordination.

Yes, I am a vet, and in 1965-7 you were not allowed to campaign for any candidate or cause in uniform and you were required to respect your chain of command or be subject to court martial. Military personnel do not enjoy the same Constitutional rights as civilians.
