Who is the “worthless” in your scenario, Jeff decker? Because where my tax dollars go as a member of the middle class is to corporate welfare, an inflated military and farm land subsides. Less than 3% of tax money goes to help the “worthless” that you describe, by which I can only assume you mean lower income or no-income people who are down on their luck, or perhaps lazy but need just as much if not more help as the corporations you so staunchly defend. When it comes to helping out my fellow man, that is exactly what I mean. “Man” not “corporation”. And I think we can dispel the notion the trickle down economics works. It’s had a run of nearly 40 years and we are as divided now as we were in the late 1920’s… Herbert Hoover was a big fan of trickle down economic theory. And then it took a democratic, nearly socialist president almost 4 terms and a world war to dig our country out of THAT debacle. How did he do it? By investing in PUBLIC works. By sending the unemployed workforce out to repair crumbling infrastructure. Dams, for heavens sake. That was the start of aRENEWABLE energy revolution. Almost 100 years ago? And what happened? Regression. Here we are. Back where we were 100 years ago. And what term do you people loathe? “Progress”ive . Progress. No. Regression is your cup of tea. And I say if that is what you’re looking for, there are plenty of countries in this world that have that same mentality. So I invite you to try these other countries out and leave this one to the people who care about progress, our fellow humans, and the future of society.
Whatever you want to believe. I’ve no problem “giving” to those in need. You, however need to see the fact that a LOT on welfare don’t deserve it. They abuse the system, and you Liberals allow it.
