4)Filegate: FBI as Clintons’ Personal Investigators
Filegate is yet another example of a Clinton scandal where she and Bill were discovered and their wrongdoing was exposed, but Hillary managed to convince people it was all just a “completely honest bureaucratic snafu.” Watch for this kind of excuse to come up again later in the list…
Here’s what happened. Judicial Watch discovered that, “In an effort to discredit the women who charged President Clinton with sexual misconduct, personal files and papers were illegally obtained and released. The courts found, under the Privacy Act, that the privacy of Linda Tripp and Kathleen Willey had been violated.” That’s right. The Clintons illegally accessed FBI files on their adversaries!
In case anyone lays all the blame at Bill Clinton’s feet, Judicial Watch also noted that Hillary had been linked “directly to the center” of the affair.
