The Moore Manifesto: “Abolish 2nd Amendment for New 28th Amendment!”

Michael Moore, whose legendary status as a believer in all things Communist, has emerged from the shadowy interior of his empty-Lays-chip-bags-cramped apartment in downtown suburbia (who wants to live in the city with all the crime and such when you have money) with his latest project.

No, not a new film about the debauchery of Donald Trump while visiting Moscow, or a deep dive into the bromance between Putin and Trump (that’s still in the works).

The Women’s March on Washington “pussy-hat” wearer emerged from his darkened doors like a deranged Punxsutawney Phil looking for his shadow, brandishing his newest Communist manifesto:  The 28th Amendment.

In his heart, the man who barely earns a living by appearing regularly on MSNBC couldn’t just sit idly by, munching on his Doritos (Ranch flavor), watching television as the Trump administration and the (literally) do-nothing Republican Congress allowed people to be indiscriminately murdered by the NRA (just for the record, there is no indication that Stephen Paddock, a committed Leftist lunatic, was a member of the NRA).

Therefore, he took crayon to scraps of napkins and the insides of empty Twinkie boxes and dedicated the next hour and a half to his grand gesture to humanity (or at least to the editorial staff at CNN), producing a magnificent piece of tripe.

My Proposal to Repeal the Second Amendment and Replace It With This:

PROPOSED 28th AMENDMENT TO THE US CONSTITUTION

“A well regulated State National Guard, being helpful to the safety and security of a State in times of need, along with the strictly regulated right of the people to keep and bear a limited number of non-automatic Arms for sport and hunting, with respect to the primary right of all people to be free from gun violence, this shall not be infringed.”

Let’s start with the precursor to the body of his proposal, shall we?  I know this is a difficult subject to grasp for many Leftists who believe that the National Guard is a separate entity from our federal military, but in reality, it’s not.  They are trained in our US Army training centers around the country.  For those of you who never served, I’ll be brief.  Inside a barracks of any boot camp or Advanced Individual Training (AIT) facility, you will find Regular Army (RA), Army Reserve (AR), and National Guard (NG).  We all train together.  That said, they are also partially funded by the federal government, in addition to state funding.

This myth that the National Guard was what our Founding Fathers were talking about when referring to the “well-regulated militia” has been bandied about for decades.  It’s simply a ruse, another classic Leftist sleight of hand (or bait and switch, if you prefer) to deflect attention away from the fact that weapons in the hands of the National Guard doesn’t, by any means, infer that they would suddenly be “on our side if the s**t hit the fan.”

In fact, little know to many in this country is that our militia in the colonies at the time of the American Revolution were not like the National Guard.  They were not trained by the British Army, they were not armed by the British government or monarchy, and they were not even in the same league as the professional troops that came over by sea to crush our rebellion.  Our troops fought in the woods, behind trees and walls, from hillocks and upper windows, perfecting guerilla warfare (as taught to us in valuable lessons by the Native Americans) at a time when armies marched in formation (much to the detriment of the commanders) like sitting ducks for the slaughter.

Although the muskets at the time were notoriously inaccurate, thousands of rounds fired per minute were bound to hit a target, eventually.  It was bloody and it was horrendous.  But our militias specifically fought that way in order to take advantage of an antiquated technique of battlefield warfare against an army that vastly outnumbered and outperformed our Minutemen.  In the end, the abilities of the American colonist militias to rally, disperse and reroute around the enemy won the war and our independence.  The lessons we learned then as simple militia are instilled in our professional army still to this day.

National Guard, Regular Army and Army Reserve, when push comes to shove, would most likely fall off quickly if orders ever came down from a tyrannical government to crush its own people.  That just wouldn’t fly with an American soldier.  However, militias independent from the National Guard or federal military would certainly swell their ranks quickly enough if that order ever was imposed from our government officials.  Where do you think all those disaffected military vets would flock to after deserting a corrupted force?
