There exists the exceptionally dumb idea that if we are nice enough to a certain segment of the criminal population that they will be nice to us in return. This idea tends to manifest itself in liberals as they struggle to see the world in the way they would like it to be rather than how it is.
Perhaps most of us share a common sense that the world could be a whole lot better place to live in than it is. But we are not going to wish that into existence. Neither is it going to be brought about by turning hardened criminals loose on society. In fact, that latter strategy is simply going to make matters worse.
Mr. Obama, who has a lifetime protection detail to insulate himself from his poor decisions, released determined terrorists from Gitmo, terrorists who are now engaging in or threatening to engage in further terrorist activities.
