Since he took office, Obama has staffed both the US Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration with former Monsanto employees and allies. USDA commissioner Tom Vilsack, Supreme Court Justice Elena Kagan, and even Hillary Clinton all can be tied to Monsanto one way or the other, whether it’s serving as counsel to the biotechnology firm or simply earning praise from it.
Obama’s lax approach towards Monsanto would also explain why the EPA has not pursued action against the company despite knowing very well that it’s Roundup product put Americans at increased risk of getting cancer:
