A writer at the Washington Post has a proposition to heal the racial divide: give blacks reparations in the form of having their vote count more than whites.
Theodore R. Johnson, current Ph.D candidate in law and policy at Northeastern University, believes the racial divide will not resolve until some form reparations are made.

Everyone’s vote has equal value. Given blacks more anything just because they are black is the very meaning of racism and discrimination. I nor any of mine every owned a slave. I don’t owe blacks a thing or anyone else for that matter. Anything I have I worked hard for with out slaves.

The individual, quote ‘White’ Vote, has never counted for more than ‘1’ Vote for each individual! Former Black Male Slaves where given the Right to Vote on Feb. 3, 1870 by the 15th Amendment. In the Southern States, their Legislatures past what has been called, ‘Jim Crow Laws’. These laws were meant to limit the Authority of the Black Vote. The 19th Amendment passed on Aug. 18, 1920 gave Women the Right to Vote, which meant that Black Women also had that right and for for their Vote to have the Authority to be Counted. The ‘Jim Craw Laws’ still affecting the Black Womens’ Vote. The Voting Rights Bill, Passed by Congress in 1965, gave everyone of Legal Age, the Right to Vote and for that Vote to be Counted. And each Individual’s Vote has been given the Full Authority to be Counted! Up, until, at least 1965 and in particular, in the Southern States, Poor Whites were considered Scum by Whites that had money, i.e: Middle and Higher Incomes and even having a lower Social Status than Blacks were given. So, in America, an Individual’s Vote should only be counted Once and Once only. 1 Individual Vote Counted as 1 Vote and only 1 Vote! Not 3/5’s, bot 3/4’s, not 1 1/2 Votes. Only 1 Vote and Only 1 Vote per Individual.
