Nobody in their right mind would want a nuclear war anywhere, including on the Korean peninsula. We’ve already got a war going on there between the North and South for over 60 years. The only veil of peace has been a cease-fire that has more or less held for all but the first few years of the war. There is no peace treaty. The nations are technically still at war.
The world over have turned a blind eye, or simply chose to ignore sparking the political powder keg that resides in the North, but Trump and his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson are now in the game and seem willing to fight fire with fire.
The unstable and bellicose leader of North Korea makes no effort to hide his nation’s quest for nuclear weapons. Especially ones he can deliver anywhere in the world.
This has the potential to develop into an incredibly nasty situation.
Unfortunately, things are heating up as discussed on page two.
Fictional, China will wipe NK off the map. Trade money talks just like politcial money. Trump meets in Florida with Chinese leader before long. Kim is being kind of quiet.
I hope the writer of this article realizes that the KPA has 1945 era equipment still. They have a handful of export mig 29s and still use BM-24 truck mounted rocket artillery. They could be destroyed just as fast as the Iraqi Republican Guard. A multi pronged attack is the only feasible option. Draw their forces away from the north and use amphibious and airborne combat units to insert at their rear.
As far as the nukes. They can’t be that hard to find. I’m sure they aren’t fantastically hidden and with the technological abilities of our Intelligence community there is a pretty good chance we could preemptively strike and destroy the target.
He’s just a crazy fat kid.
I don’t think that young PUNK wants to tangle with Maddox, Obama is gone.
N. Korea isn’t the entire problem. The problem is China, as it’s biggest ally, is not keeping them in check.
Problem with the citizens of DPRK in combat is they can’t fight effectively if they’re already starved half to death.
That’s a fine thing for you and me to say about a foreign war that doesn’t reach our shores. What you need to remember is that the people of south Korea, though they have their own military, need support from their allies (US included) and Japan also. These two nations would get the destruction of their home while we sit over here talking about how great America is. Think about someone other than ourselves in this case.
All ya need is China to have second thoughts and NK doesn’t really have much of a leg to stand on. Things that might give China pause might be US allies. Lots of them. And with Trump’s policy in action you might even be able to add Syria to that list soon. According to the left wingers, Russia is already on the list. Worse, the whole ally thing has a really nice launching pad in South Korea. Thats about as good as anything China has as far as access and projecting power goes. So, if I was NK, I’d be asking myself what Trump will be discussing with China in this next meeting. And I’ll bet he is 🙂
Actually the military get fed and paid. It’s the rest of the people who have to go pull a bunch of grass from the ground to eat for the day.
