Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

Holy s**t they have cameras in public?!
I have nothing to hide and don’t behave in a way that being filmed would bother me at all, unless they should happen to catch me picking my nose. (and I try not to do that in public.)
lol my wife is 5’2″ im 6’1″ so whats eye lvl? 😛
Here is a news flash people. If you are in a mid-sized or larger city almost every moment of your day can be on camera, multiple angles from public saftey cameras to private business security cameras, Privacy is an illusion.
LMAO!
These cameras are a double edge sword. Great for theft and security but that is so minimal. It’s for human tracking activities. See who you are, what your buying record (everywhere at all stores)shows, track your income from bank records and spending etc etc… all in an instant when you walk by due to social media and the web. Scary, the future has taken away so much privacy in our lives.
I am less afraid of what Wal-Mart would do with that information than what the government would do with it. I can choose to go to Target instead of Wal-Mart and then they have nothing on me.
GASP!!!!! Is that a camera in front of a store????? OMG, the Horror, the Corporate Mayhem!!!!!!!! Oh, wait lots of businesses employ security cameras……..
As a business they have a right and responsibility to protect their interests if you don’t like it don’t shop there
