Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.
SEE PAGE 2:
who cares….if it bothers you, don’t shop at Walmart.
What could possibly go wrong….
Good place to put your gum.
That sounds like just a regular security camera with minor object tracking capabilities. They have been around for a couple of years now. The Ethernet does not provide power, you have to install what is know as Power over Ethernet which just means that you plug a power supply into the wall in a wiring closet and it sends that power over the same cable used by the camera for Ethernet. Some of the feature he showed. as to identifying idle objects, is additional software that runs on the client computer used to display multiple cameras and allows them to also be recorded (typical security software). What I would worry about is fatial recognition software and bio-metric reconginition software (with a shared database) which I didn’t see mentioned at all in this video. In fact the guy in the video does many of these conspericy theory type videos, and obviosly doesn’t know much about these cameras.
If the Goverment was really interested in what someone was doing, they wouldn’t have to go to Walmart lol. All they would have to do is just look on facebook.
Can you say “Orwell?”
Very interesting!
If your that paranoid, stay at home with aluminum ofl around your head. 340 million people walking around with cell cameras and you are worried about a camera at Walmart.
If that’s true why do they still have so much trouble identifying shoplifters for prosecution?
haha nobody cares about walmart.
