Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.

So,1. the camera installed at “eye level” is a simple fixed CHEAP camera. I used to install them at walmart. 2 Facial recognition software does NOT have to be at eye level. 3. Walmart DOES NOT CARE what you do on FB or any place other than IT’S PROPERTY. 4. check the video again, two TOTALLY different cameras. Although all of the technlogy this poster is talking about does exist and probably has for qhite a while longer than he’s been looking for it, Walmart is not going to pay that much for something they just don’t need. Some people will find problems everywhere they look. The truth IS out there but THIS AIN’T IT!!!!!

Hey, maybe this will change my life. When I played music, years ago, they said since I started playing in bands I had gone from and unknown, to an unloved, and then to an unwanted. Maybe they can match me up to something so I might be wanted. LOL
this is to take face photos…all retailers are doing this to build a data base of shoplifters using facial recognition software…that way if they only catch them on video and they have a record…then a warrant is issued without the offenders knowledge…dont ask me how I know this…but its the truth.
Why would I be paranoind. I know exactly how every camera they have works and the type of view they have so if I wanted for them not to see what I’m doing I could hide it. How does it make ME paranoid.

OMG another lets make the people paranoid of each other we didnt need cameras before the technology was invented we dont need to video taped now its just a ploy to make people paranoid of their fellow human being not everyone is on drugs and a crook or thief and just cause the government and employers want you to think that this is the results big brother is watching everymove. cameras are everywhere i will not get over it i do not like being filmed everytime i leave my house its no ones business where i am going or where i shop or what i buy thats what privacy is being invaded. Home depot has facial recognition cameras also but no face book blow up about it and has been in home depot for over a year.
I’ll have a piece of duct tape every time I go in a Walmart for now on!
