Walmart has been installing facial recognition cameras at eye level in the entrances of their new store fronts for some time now. These cameras not only have the ability to cross reference you with social media networks to put a name with the face, but utilzes software that has the ability to ascertain a great many things about the environment. How much exactly is unknown, but in the video on the next page you can see that it not only tracks faces, but can categorize objects and motion.
SEE PAGE 2:
We have ip cameras at work now that can do all sorts of recognition, this is nothing new. Walmart revamps their security systems every 7 years, most stores have a total of 64 cameras… If you don’t want them looking at you I guess you could wear a ski mask, but that would introduce a whole new set of issues…lol
complete BS.. I’ve worked for walmart, and I can confirm that this article isn’t accurate..

it’s facial reporting software
Carry a travel can of hairspray and give them a squirt.
talk about feeling like mice in a maze
I don’t blame them, Maybe their just sick of getting ripped off by the Union agitators that pillage the stores!
Is that where I’m suppose to stick my gum?
In some Walmarts, the cameras they have are tiny. Look in the door frames as you’re exiting. Right about at eye level, there may be a small white/gray housing with a black window mounted right in the frame. There’s your camera. Most of the camera housings you see, usually on the ceiling are much larger and surprise, they’re empty. They’re decoys designed to make you think that those are the only cameras in use. The real cameras are camouflaged or otherwise strategically placed. Look at your smart phone. See that camera in there. That thing is around 8-12 megapixels. Did you notice how small it is and how good the pictures are? Those cameras are just as good. These cameras are capable of taking a picture with decent enough resolution to be used for identification and dissemination, but the software needed for realtime facial recognition is beyond what Walmart would be willing to invest in.
